The Central Coast Day course is a hands on course run entirely in the field for photographers of all levels. Participants will be instructed on photographic techniques and skills from the ground up.
I will take you through the camera set up process and structured capture workflow on how all my images are taken. The beauty of this workflow is that it ads understanding and consistency to every image you take, so there is no more fluking images or shooting a 100 shots to get one that comes out ok.
The course goes for approx 7 hours and takes in shooting sunset usually at Observatory Hill where the days acquired skills are put into practice and students can put the final touches on their newly acquired set of skills.
During the day we visit some of my favorite locations on the coast, like Forresters Beach, Spoon Bay, Avoca Beach and The Skillion.
A maximum of 8 participants per course.
On the 10th of September my courses featured in the Sydney Morning Herald's section called the Traveller. To have a read of the article please click here.

The Central Coast Day course is a course that is perfect for beginners to serious amateur photographers. This course will cover camera set up and functions through to a detailed image capture workflow, the same I use for all my own images.
At the end of the day you will have a solid understanding of your camera and it's settings, you will be shooting all your images in "Manual" and perfecting them using the histogram so you have perfect exposures every time. You will understand the relationship between shutter speed, aperture and iso and how to use these settings for best results and also the correct use of additional equipment like graduated filters, polarises etc.
You will be able look at your image beyond just physical composition and start to think about the composition of shutter speed for movement textures and the composition of light and how that can influence a subject and also your approach to shooting it.
You will also know the concepts and techniques behind capturing digital panoramic's.

The Central Coast is where I call home and I have spent countless hours shooting and exploring the coastline and local waterfalls. All the same skills and techniques are taught on this course like any other.
My courses goal is to teach you how I take the image you see on this website, while showing you some great locations and having a fun at the same time.
This course is also $80 cheaper than my other group courses held in Sydney or the Blue Mountains.
