My Newcastle day course like all of my group courses where I will teach you my capture workflow and also the structure behind it and why it is so powerful to taking great photos.

Typically on the Newcastle course we will meet at a coastal location like Bar Beach or Nobbys Beach and cover the theory side of the course, complete with visual aids on an ipad and also printed examples as well to make teaching as comprehensive as possible.

From there we take off and explore some of the local area putting your newly taught skills into practice at places working on getting your exposures perfect using the histogram, looking at things like composition, how to test your equipment and techniques out in the field so you can further your own development. Setting up and shooting digital panoramic's and more.

During the day we could visit any number of great places to shoot like the Bogey Hole, Merewether Baths, Nobbys Lighthouse, Newcastle Beach and Bar Beach.

Then as the day comes to a close we work out the best advantage point to shoot sunset and you can put all your days teachings into full effect as you capture the dynamic evening light.

To undertake this course is no different than the skill level of any of my other courses. You don't need any what so ever. The course is designed to start off at any level you want and to go from there.

These courses are quite popular for people who are interested in wanting to learn how to shoot slide film on their 35mm or 617 panoramic cameras.

The Newcastle course is a hands on pratical course set in and around the beautiful locations of Newcastles coastline.

My courses goal is to teach you how I take the image you see on this website, while showing you some great locations and having a fun at the same time.

During the day we cover additional subjects like shooting and re visualising digital panoramics, concepts and process of exposure blending, shutter blending and focus blending. Understanding and shooting to a histogram.

The correct use of filters like graduated ND filters, polarisers and full ND filters to control the light and create surreal image effects.
