The beginning of the Northern Beaches coastline
Manly Beach

The Northern Beaches are thirty kilometers of pristine crystal blue beaches, peppered with ocean baths that are filled and refreshed with the current of the Tasman Sea. The sandstone marbled cliffs are the backbone that wind along the coastline their ragged fingers stretching out on the headlands into the ocean protecting the beaches in their towering walls giving panoramic views as far as the eye can see.
The seaside air is filled with the aromas of coffee and breakfast cooking from the many cafes. Joggers run by soaking up the morning rays, the early morning sun reflecting off the ocean casting their shadow along the ground in an array of blurred disfigurement. Surfers head out into the ocean to catch the sets rolling in as others are returning back to shore, the morning surf is over and the working day now begins.
We live and experience the area we call home in different ways. I find it is what we usually don’t get to see that inspires me to head out each day to capture images of moments and compositions that our sometimes hectic and busy lives don’t allow us to appreciate. We sometimes simply forget to stop, take a breath, and enjoy the beauty of the area that surrounds us.
Happy Shooting

Keeping in line with traditional techniques, selected images from the gallery have been made into black and white. Dark sky's in the shots are the result from using red filters as illustrated in the shot above.
Other filter types used in the black and white gallery are yellow, blue and green resulting in different contrasts and shadow depths etc.
